Gfi and Gfci Receptacles
Gfci receptacles are commonly found around water, outside, and counter spaces. They are there for your protection.
Many times an old cord, or extension cords run outside can cause gfci’s to trip. If your Christmas lights go out due to tripping a gfci controlled circuit, there is a good chance there is moisture in a connection between two cords, and the gfi is just doing its’ job.
